The Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) is a government backed system of self-regulation for all instructors, coaches, trainers and teachers involved in the exercise and fitness industry. Registration is achieved and maintained through qualifications and training which are nationally recognised and which are linked to the National Occupational Standards for exercise and fitness. Active IQ is a Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) approved awarding body, which certifies courses in the active leisure industry. These certifications act as a benchmark for quality and credibility both for those employing FitEd’s graduates and also for those wishing to join the industry. FitEd is an online training provider that delivers fitness industry courses. FitEd uses the latest technology to teach future fitness professionals in their own time, at their own pace. FitEd delivers cost effective, high-quality and enjoyable training via eLearning, with qualifications designed to give you the tools you need to work in the fitness industry.
An experienced tutor will be available via email or phone. You will also receive feedback on all submissions and will be given advice and help on using the eLearning platforms when required. During each course you will also have your LAP (Learner Achievement Portfolio) to refer to when necessary.
FitEd provides high quality, nationally accredited qualifications along with a number of CPD courses, from personal training to studio cycling. FitEd is one of the first training providers in Wales that delivers courses through distance learning via eLearning platforms. This allows the students to work at their own pace, in their own time, wherever they want.
On completion of a FitEd course each student has access onto the Register of Exercise Professionals at levels 2 and 3.

Fitness Industry salaries vary greatly across the sector. Fitness (Gym) Instructors employed at one of the UK's leading health and fitness clubs can expect to receive a salary of anywhere between £13,000 - £18,000 per year. (After completion of Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instruction - Gym / Active IQ Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training).
For instructors who also hold a Active IQ Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training, they may be allowed to bolster their Fitness Instruction hours with Personal Training. This could potentially enhance your income by an extra £3,000 - £10,000 per annum.
On completion of our Active IQ Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training, many students opt for a self-employed career path. In this situation they could charge between £25 per hour and up to £70 per hour depending upon location. A successful self-employed personal trainer can earn well in advance of £35,000 per year.
A student may continue with their eLEarning and complete their course regardless of whether they pass or fail a module. Students will only receive the certificates for any failed modules once they have successfully completed all relevant assessments.
All students will have a number of opportunities to pass their assessments, although an administrational fee may be incurred for re-assessments after two failed attempts. If a student fails, they will have the opportunity to contact or meet the appropriate Tutor to formulate an action plan.
